Pfaffenhofen a. d. Zusam St. Martin 2009

The G.F. Steinmeyer organ Opus 443 from 1892 is a work with mechanical cone valve chests. The builders were known for their very high quality instruments, both in terms of craftsmanship and music.

An organ with 20 stops, two manuals and pedal was built in Pfaffenhofen. In the meantime, this wonderful instrument has accompanied the congregation - without major repairs - for almost 120 years. After such a long time, it became urgently necessary to subject this jewel of organ building to a thorough and comprehensive restoration. Georg Weishaupt's master workshop for organ building was commissioned to restore the instrument professionally in accordance with the highest principles of monument preservation.
We carefully removed all pipes and other parts of the organ. The organ case was professionally repaired and restored on site. The organ console was completely dismantled in our workshop and all worn parts, such as felts and leather, were replaced. The key actions, wind chests and wind system were also restored. We did not change anything in the voicing. All the stops were re-tuned compensatory and then re-tuned according to the existing tuning key.
