Klenau St. Andreas 1999

The Kaspar König organ was built around 1730 for the parish of Waidhofen, where it was sold to the parish of Klenau in 1871.

The organ builder Fleischmann provided the instrument with a free-standing console and the delicate string stop Aeoline 8' instead of the fifth 3'.
Furthermore, the stop registers Portun 8', Principal 4', Oktave 2', Mixtur 1' were shifted by one tone and one pipe was placed in front of each, as well as the mixture stop was changed. After 1871 only minor repairs were carried out on the instrument, so that in April 1999 the organ was in a very poor condition.
We dismantled the organ and, after a worm treatment with gas, transported it to our workshop. There, after a detailed examination of the instrument, a restoration concept was worked out. We then carefully restored, supplemented and partially renewed all parts of the console, the stop action, the wind chests, the wind supply and the case according to the principles of monument preservation. In this way we were able to restore the original Kaspar-König disposition. The fresh, powerful and overtone-rich sound of this organ has already surprised many a listener!
